Christians: do you have difficulty understanding that I reject your religion, not your god?
I’m trying to stop using the term ‘atheist’ to identify myself; I think it’s a silly term that needs to be phased out. Yesterday I called myself a ‘religion rejecter’ because this, to me, seems a much better way if identifying myself. But some of the responses I got from you Christians were like, “Atheists reject God because they don’t want to be held accountable for their sins!” I don’t reject your god, ok? To me, your god is equivalent to the existence of aliens; you know, there’s no proof either for or against so having a belief one way or the other is a complete waste of mental effort. I simply don’t partake in the act of believing; I’m content with what I know and what I haven’t yet learned. So I don’t reject your god; I reject your religion and every other religion, do you understand?
