How to become a literacy teacher to child or adult, with or without disabilities?

I want to be able to teach literacy to child or adult with or without disabilities. I have a high school diploma but I am unsure how to get started. Not sure whether I need to start on an ociates degree or just a bachelors degree. If I take special Education the I will only be able to teach children or adults with disabilities.
