Clio 172 resonating/vibrating at approx' 5k+. Sounds bearing related.?

Might be the exhaust just touching the floorpan or some other part of the car. Exhaust vibration can sound pretty bad, it's worth getting that checked out first before you start changing gearboxes. It may only be a clamp or a rubber that's fallen off.
