Does Obama's claim that his vote against going to war show his insight...or his lack of judgment?
Fact: The world and the UN believed, given the available intelligence, and Sadam's own claims and actions, that Iraq did, indeed, have WMDs. The risk to the rest of the civilized world was thought at the time to be very real. So, given this truth (hindsight not counting) was Obama's lonely and contrary position to vote against war and in favor of a highly dangerous and evil dictator truly insightful or just plain bad judgment? Had Obama been sitting in the Oval Office with the same facts and great threats to America at hand, with the memory of 9/11 less than two years prior, and with other terrorists caught trying to breech our borders, would a President Obama have done nothing? that, I think, reflects not on his credibility and marvelous insight...but instead suggests he is a man of poor judgment, a man of dangerous inaction in the face of serious threat, and is therefore unfit to be Commander-in-Chief. His vote against the war, which he so proudly announces, was cowardly.
