Is it safe to drink out of cup that i found some baby maggots in from the heat if i clean out the cup?

i came home from work on a hot day to find out that i had dumped out what was left in the cup the day before, but had forgot to rinse it out well. when i went to rinse it out before putting it in the dishwater, i found stuff floating in the water that i thought was mold at first but appeared to be baby maggots. I ran lots of hot water over the cup and kept walking it outside to dump in the sewer drain....safe to drink out of still???? (my fave cup from college days)
